REDBOX RENAME
RedBox is now officially Beav
The short answer: RedBox is Beav. Since v2.5.0, RedBox has been officially renamed Beav, with the product, your data, subscriptions, and downloads all carried over seamlessly; If you found us through older search terms like "RedBox download" or "RedBox official site", you are in exactly the right place.
Why the rename from RedBox to Beav
RedBox focused early on putting capture, a knowledge base, AI chat, and content generation into one desktop tool. As Beav, the positioning is clearer: a local-first AI creative-asset workspace built around creators' material, knowledge, topics, drafts, covers, and videos. The name changed; the work did not: every piece of good material you find while browsing should grow into a long-term, reusable creative asset. The full background of the rename is covered in the about page rename notes and changelog.

Common questions after the rename
- Has RedBox been renamed?
- Yes. RedBox was officially renamed Beav starting with v2.5.0. This is a brand upgrade for the same product: still a creator workspace that brings capture, the knowledge base, AI chat, and content generation together, now upgraded to an "AI workspace for creator content and assets".
- Is the RedBox website still usable?
- The old RedBox address redirects automatically to the Beav site. The download page, changelog, docs, and skills marketplace are all maintained here, and the GitHub repository keeps the same commit history.
- What happens to the material and knowledge bases I captured in RedBox?
- Everything carries over. Beav reads the same local workspace as RedBox, so your asset library, knowledge bases, topics, and drafts are never lost; upgrade to the latest version and open your existing projects directly.
- Can the old RedBox desktop app still upgrade to Beav?
- Yes. Download the latest version from the official page and install over it; your existing account, local data, and settings are recognized automatically. Linux users can keep using the deb, rpm, or AppImage builds.
- Which download should I pick when searching for RedBox?
- Download Beav. It is the latest version of the original RedBox, with every RedBox feature intact and ongoing improvements to capture, smart topics, AI writing, cover generation, and video creation.
